dc.description.abstract | Butane is an organic compound with the formula C4H10 which is an alkane with
four carbon atoms. Butane is a gas at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. The
term can refer to either of two structural isomers, n-butane or isobutane (also called
"methylpropane"), or a mixture of these isomers. But in IUPAC nomenclature,
"butane" refers only to the isomer of n-butane (which is the isomer with the
unbranched structure). Butane is a highly flammable, colorless, easily liquefied gas
that evaporates rapidly at room temperature. The name butane comes from the roots
but- (from butyric acid, named after the Greek word for butter) and -ana. In this study
the authors used the Arduino microcontroller as the brain of the system and the mq-8
sensor as a means of detecting butane gas levels. The working system of this tool is a
system for detecting butane gas. This system serves to see the level of high butane and
low butane. The samples measured in this measurement are air concentration, air
pollution, CO, and butane. For indication used buzzer and LED. If the butane is low
then the LED is ON, if the butane is high then the buzzer is ON, the data will then be
connected to the data logger with PLX DAQ which appears on Ms. Excel, then the
data will appear on the LCD. And the system re-read data in realtime. From the
measurement results, low butane gas is 8% with an air concentration of 5 ppm, while
high butane is 17% with an air concentration of 11 ppm and above, the buzzer is an
indication of high butane, while the LED is an indication of low butane. It can be
concluded that this tool has worked well and can be implemented. | en_US |
