dc.description.abstractThis study aims to look at the picture of national identity in Generation Z in the city of Medan. This study involved 200 people in the Z generation in the city of Medan who were taken by accidental sampling technique. The measurement tool used is the national identity scale developed by Branscombe, Ellemers, Spears, and Doosje (1999) which is based on the definition of social identity by Tajfel & Turner and consists of 9 items. Descriptive statistical analysis was used in this research. The results of this study indicate that in general Z generation in the city of Medan as many as 108 teenagers are in the high category, 91 teenagers are in the medium category, and only 1 teenager is in the low category. This research is expected to provide implications for individuals so that they can apply the values of National Identity from existing aspects. National identity must be placed in studies and the national education curriculum to assist individual processes in interpreting and associating themselves with the country and supporting national developmenten_US
