dc.description.abstract | The existence of Jaran Kepang Performing Arts Turonggo Putro Kencono in Dusun II Pulau Gambar village, Serbajadi sub-district, Serdang Bedagai district is a performing art that has long been formed and developed and supported by the local community. The performing arts of Jaran Kepang is a folk art which has elements of music, dance, trance, dragon head barongan attractions and monkey mask ganongan. The musical instruments used are drums, saron, kemung, demung and gongs. Properties used braid horse, whip, barongan, ganongan. Jaran Kepang is displayed at thanksgiving events, weddings, circumcision, bathing, holiday celebrations and after harvest. The purpose of this study is to describe the existence, efforts to maintain and develop Jaran Kepang Turonggo Putro Kencono in Pulau Gambar village. This study uses a qualitative method. The method of data collection are observation, interviews, and documentation. Sources of data were obtained from informant heads, group coaches, group members and the local community. The existence of an art that has received recognition needs to be developed to maintain the integrity of the existence of an art. Development must reproduce, manage and renew faces, a business that has meaning as a means for the emergence of qualitative achievements. The results of the field findings indicate that the existence of the Jaran Kepang performing arts is welcomed and supported by the community, local government and guidance from the supporting community, the function of the performance is as entertainment, cultural preservation. Dynamic development from the beginning formed until now with creativity as a characteristic of a group that is of interest to all ages, as an audience attraction and can be maintained until now. The hallmark of the Turonggo Putro Kencono group is the dragon head barongan and monkey mask ganongan which are always displayed during performances. Factors supporting group development are internal factors, namely creativity, group organization, and external factors, namely local government, community responses, audiences, technology. | en_US |
