Analisis Literasi Digital Mahasiswa Perpustakaan dan Sains Informasi Universitas Sumatera Utara dalam Pemanfaatan Virtual Meetings
Abstract
The objective of the research is to find out the level of digital literacy of the students of Library and Information Science Department of the Universitas Sumatera Utara in Utilizing Virtual Meetings by using Zoom, which refers to the indicator of seven digital literacy competencies by Digital Literacy Global Framework published by UNESCO (2018), consisting of Hardware and Software Operation, Information Literacy and Data Communication and Collaboration Making Digital Content, Security, Problem Solving, and competency in career. The research employs descriptive qualitative method. The data are gathered by conducting interview, observation, and documentation. There are six informants, consisting of undergraduate students of Library and Information Science Department of the Universitas Sumatera Utara in the academic year of 2021- 2022, taken by using purposive sampling technique. The result of the research shows that the students have not fulfilled the whole competency indicator in the physical operating competency of digital hardware and operating software in digital devices, competency in information and data literacy, competency in communication and collaboration, competency in making security digital content, and competency in career. In this case, the students still need to increase every digital literacy competency in utilizing virtual meetings. It is also found that the students have not utilized virtual meetings zoom maximally to increase their knowledge, especially in the library science. They still need to increase their capacity in digital literacy, especially in utilizing virtual meetings
