    Abstract
    This research discusses code switching and code mixing in the content of Youtube video channel Nihongo Mantappu. This purpose of this research is to describe the types and factors that cause code switching and code mixing in Nihongo Mantappu Youtube videos. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data collection technique used observation and documentation techniques, then continued with the note taking technique. The data source in this research is Jerome Polin and his speech partners's speech in the YouTube video content in the form of conversations or utterances that contain code switching and code mixing. The results of the analysis found that there is situational code switching and metaphorical code switching. Factors causing code switching are (1) speakers, (2) speech partners, (3) explaining something, (4) changing the topic of conversation, (5) the appearance of a third person. The code mixing found in the research is external code mixing in the form of code mixing inserting elements of words, phrases, baster, repetition of words, clauses and sentences. The factors that cause code mixing found are 1) speaker habits, 2) evoking a sense of humor, 3) asserting, 4) showing off erudition, 5) using popular terms, 6) quoting, 7) no suitable words, 8) explaining something, 9) influenced by interlocutors, 10) mentioning terms, 11) showing familiarity, and 12) limited language mastery.
