Upaya Yayasan Perguruan Jenderal Sudirman untuk Meningkatkan Minat Pengunjung di Perpustakaan
Abstract
The objective of the research is to find out the efforts made by Yayasan Perguruan Jendral Sudirman to increase visitors' interest in visiting their library. The research employs descriptive qualitative method. The research concludes that /) Library management carries out verbal promotion only once after the student enrollment, through story-telling to elementary school students and gives reward to the students who frequently visit the library, 2) feasible library can increase the number of visitors, 3) literature materials are regularly provided and recorded but the popular materials are not adequately provided, 4) supporting facility and infrastructure are provided, yet they are not sufficient. The result of the research shows that the visitors of the library of Yayasan Perguruan Jendral Sudirman are not very interested in visiting the library because of the lack of promotion since the library is promoted only orally, is far from classrooms, lacks of procurement of library materials, and have limited materials.
