Abstract
This study purpose to describe the use and violation of politeness principles in the film of Chángjīnhú 《长津湖》 The Battle At Lake Changjin and describe the most frequent use and violation of politeness principles in the film. The data in this study are utterances form of text in the film of Chángjīnhú 《长津湖》 The Battle At Lake Changjin. The theory used in this study is the theory of the leech's politeness principle there are 6 (six) maxims, Tact Maxim, Generosity Maxim, Approbation Maxim, Modesty Maxim, Agreement Maxim, and Symphaty Maxim. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data results of the research show that the use of the principles found in the film is 48 data, including 16 Tact Maxim, 8 Generosity Maxim, 8 Approbation Maxim, 4 Modesty Maxim, 4 Agreement Maxim, and 4 Symphaty Maxim. Violations of the Politeness there are 22 data, including 1 Tact Maxim, 3 Generosity Maxim, 12 Approbation Maxim, 2 Modesty Maxim, 2 Agreement Maxim, and 2 Symphaty Maxim. The use of the principle of politeness is more than the violations contained in the film Chángjīnhú 《长津湖》 The Battle At Lake Changjin. The use principle of politeness that often occurs is Tact Maxim, Generosity Maxim, Approbation Maxim, Agreement Maxim, Modesty Maxim and Maxim sympathy. Violations of the principle of politeness that often occur are Approbation Maxim, Generosity Maxim, Modesty Maxim, Maxim Agreement, Symphaty Maxim, and Tact Maxim. Therefore, it can be seen that this film describes the attitude of soldiers who are not concerned with praise and others towards themselves.
