dc.description.abstractThe study discusses about Expressive Complaining Speech Acts Analysis in The Drama Good Morning Call . The expressive speech act of complaining is an expressive speech act that occurs because one of the parties is harmed. The purpose of this research is to find expressive illocutionary speech acts and perlocutionary complaints as well as illocutionary functions. Then to find out the expressive illocutionary speech act strategy of complaining. The data source used in this study is the drama Good Morning Call. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method, library research and observation methods. This study used the theory of speech acts by Searle while to examine complaint strategies in Japanese used Yamaoka's theory and complaints strategies in general used theory by Murphy. The results of this study indicate that there are 23 data using expressive speech acts of complaining, including 5 data using the Murphy complaint strategy and 18 data using the Yamaoka complaint strategy. The expressive illocutionary function that appears the most in this drama is the expressive illocutionary function of annoyance. The most common perlocutionary speech act is expressive fear.en_US
