Perkembangan Objek Wisata Danau Siombak di Kelurahan Paya Pasir Kecamatan Medan Marelan (1983-2006)
Abstract
This thesis explains the beginnings of Lake Siombak, the development of Lake Siombak from year to year, as well as the lives of the people who live around Lake Siombak. This research aims to determine the development of Lake Siombak as a tourist attraction from year to year. Lake Siombak is also a place for some local people to earn a living for their families. Siombak Lake still holds various stories and secrets that are interesting to research as to why this artificial lake was created, which began with a story in 1983 where it was discovered that there had been land excavations for the Belmera Toll Road. The method used in this research was historical methods, namely Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation, Historiography. This data source was obtained through library research and field research. Literature study using books, documents, reports through interviews with primary and secondary sources. The results of this research explain that the Siombak Lake tourist attraction is widely known by the wider community in the city of Medan, even in North Sumatra Province. The Siombak Lake tourist attraction has an interesting history to study and disseminate to the public. The conclusion of this research is that the Siombak Lake tourist attraction is an artificial lake in the Paya Pasir sub-district, Medan Marelan sub-district which is still visited by many people for holidays.
