Deskripsi Manajemen dan Peranan Persatuan Artis Batak Indonesia (PARBI) dalam Perkembangan Grup Musik Populer Batak di Kota Medan

Abstract

This research examine and clarify descriptively the management system of an arts association, that is Persatuan Artis Batak Indonesia (PARBI) in North Sumatera as well as this association role in the development of popular Batak groups and music in Medan. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach in its completion. This research also uses the arts management theory approach by Richard L. Daff which includes planning, organizing, determining human resources, implementation and supervision. Data collection to support this research was obtained through interviews with sources Chair of PARBI Sumut, and then observations of the activities of popular Batak music groups in Kota Medan, documentation in the form of video recordings, photos, sound recordings and also through journals and supporting manuscript documents. The results of this research include; 1) The management and management system managed by PARBI Sumut is good and clear so that this organization can achieve its goals well. 2) Proving that arts associations such as PARBI Sumut have had a positive impact on the development of Batak popular music groups in Kota Medan because this association facilitates access and provides great opportunities for the development of these Batak music groups so that they become better known to the wider community and increase their network. That way, it will create prosperity for every member of the group who joins it.
