Simbol Nonverbal dalam Tradisi Tonggo Ulaon Pangurason : Kajian Semiotika
Abstract
This thesis is entitled “Non Verbal Symbols in the Tonggo Ulaon
Pangurason Tradition: A Semiotic Study. This study aims to describe the forms of
non-verbal symbols found in the Toba Batak Ethnic Tonggo Ulaon Pangurason
event, to describe the functions of the Non-Verbal symbols found in the Toba
Batak Ethnic Tonggo Ulaon Pangurason event, to describe the meaning of the
symbols contained in the Toba Batak Ethnic Tonggo Ulaon Pangurason
pangurason event. The theory used to analyze this data is a semiotic theory put
forward by Alex Sobur. The method used in this research is qualitative method.
Finding the results of the study, namely Tonggo Ulaon Pangurason against the
Toba Batak Ethnic. It can be concluded that inthe Tonggo ulaon pangurason Batak
Toba ethnic event, there are 14 types of symbols including : Nabirong ropes (black
ropes), Ulos (ulos), Mandar (sarong), Lage tiar ( mat), Cawan nabontar (white
cup), Gabiri (candlenut), Pangir (kaffir lime), Baringin leaves (banyan), Charcoal
(charcoal), Tampurung (shell), Piraniambulangan (chicken eggs), Boras (rice),
Napuran (betel leaf), Haminjon (incense). 1 types of shapes, functions and
meanings of drink symbols include: Aek Nausea Sitio-tio. As well as one type of
time symbol, among others: manogot ni ari or morning.
