This research is a descriptive research that aims to determine the picture of National Identity in poor society in Medan City. This study involved 110 people as research participants. Sampling is carried out using the Non-Probability technique with incidental sampling method. The data obtained in this study was processed by descriptive analysis using the SPSS statistic 23.0 application. A measuring instrument in the form of a national identity scale based on the theory of Tajfel and Turner, the scale used is the scale proposed by Blank and Schmitd (2003). The results showed that the majority of participants had a level of National Identity that tended to be in low positions which means that these individuals have a weak sense of membership in their group and have significant knowledge of judgments and emotions that tend not to be ideal as Indonesians thereby weakening their national identity as Indonesians.en_US
