Pengaruh Pemberian Tepung Daun Pepaya (Carica papaya Linn) pada Ransum terhadap Performan Ayam Broiler

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving papaya leaf flour as a feed additive on the performance of broiler chickens. This research was conducted at the Research and Entrepreneurial Cage of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, Medan. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment consisted of P0 (feed without the addition of papaya leaf powder); P1 (feed with the addition of 1.5% papaya leaves); P2 (feed with the addition of 2.5% papaya leaves); P3 (feed with the addition of 3.5% papaya leaves). The variables observed were feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. The results showed that treatment showed a significant effect (P<0.05) on body weight gain and (P<0.05) on feed conversion but showed no significant effect (P<0.05) on feed consumption. The conclusion of this study is that giving papaya leaf flour in the ration can increase body weight gain and reduce feed conversion with the best level being feed with the addition of 2.5% papaya leaf flour.
