The spread of the Covid-19 virus has resulted in unprecedented measures that restrict travel and activities. Many aspects of work, travel, and education have been hindered because it is not allowed to conduct activities in person, and this has had a significant impact on the transportation sector. The demand for travel will decrease, and people will travel less using public transportation. Passenger transportation, in particular, has the potential to become a vector for the transmission of Covid-19. Reducing the frequency of public transportation services as carried out by the government is an example of conventional policies carried out in the transportation sector to deal with the pandemic to reduce mobility or the flow of human movement. Health protocols during Covid-19 have made people more careful in choosing public transportation. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of passenger travel of online transportation modes and conventional transportation during the Covid-19 pandemic in Medan Denai and the most influential factors in mode choice. This research was conducted by surveying the form of a questionnaire to 100 respondents in Medan Denai sub-district to obtain data on the general characteristics and travel characteristics of respondents which were then processed using the help of SPSS. The results showed respondents tend to use online transportation (63%) compared to conventional transportation (37%). From the results of multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS, an equation model Y = -0.011 + 0.162X2 + 0.233X4 + 0.515X5 + 0.366X7 was obtained and the most influential factors in choosing modes were travel cost, comfort, accessibility, as well as the procurement and implementation of health protocols.
