Pembinaan Bagi Anak yang Berhadapan dengan Hukum di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas I Medan
Abstract
Children in the process of growth and development often encounter forms of juvenile delinquency which result in children being subject to crime and facing the law. We often hear about juvenile delinquent behavior that results in children facing the law and even results in victims. With this, coaching is needed for children so that their mental and mental health is improved. The government has created a Special Children's Development Institute (LPKA). The aim of this coaching is to make children in conflict with the law better and be accepted again by society. The guidance given to children in conflict with the law at Special Children's Development Institutions is regulated in Law No. 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections, article 50 paragraph 1, namely the guidance of Education, Personality and Independence. This research was conducted at the Medan Class I Children's Special Development Institute. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Researchers used primary data collection methods by means of observation, interviews and documentation and secondary literature studies. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of data analysis show that guidance for children who are in conflict with the law at the Medan Class I Special Children's Development Institute has been carried out quite well by carrying out guidance, namely education, personality and independence. However, there are still shortcomings in carrying out guidance, namely in facilities and infrastructure such as places of Christian worship, schools and accommodation for assisted children because the capacity of the Class I Special Development Institution for Children in Medan has exceeded.
