Dinamika Komunikasi Antarbudaya Wisatawan Asing dengan Masyarakat Kota Banda Aceh

Abstract

This research is entitled "Dynamics of Intercultural Communication of Foreign Tourists with the Community of Banda Aceh City". The purpose of this study is to find out how the dynamics of intercultural communication and what are the obstacles that occur between foreign tourists and the people of the city of Banda Aceh. Theories and concepts in this study are Communication, Intercultural Communication. And the Dynamics of Intercultural Communication. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research methods. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and literature study. The number of informants in this study were 12 (twelve) people, namely 6 (six) foreign tourists, and 6 (six) people from the city of Banda Aceh who were determined based on the Purposive Sampling technique. The results of this study reveal. The city of Banda Aceh as a tourism and cultural area glorifies guests, its people accept the presence of foreign tourists well as long as foreign tourists are able to follow the existing norms and rules of Islamic law and foreign tourists also respect them. Both of them are trying to establish communication and a good impression between the two so that it benefits both parties. The obstacles that occur are language barriers as well as accents and accents, barriers to cultural differences, and barriers to discriminatory attitudes experienced by foreign tourists.
