This paper examines the various strategies of pitulung dompo in maintaining its existence in Limau Manis Village. Emically, the pitulung dompo call themselves 'dompo healers'. Meanwhile, according to the community, there are two names for dompo healers, namely 'healer' and 'pitulung'. The main reason I am interested in researching this topic is because of the pitulung's various strategies in maintaining their existence. This study uses qualitative methods with field work. The initial process of preparing a thesis, collecting field data and collecting additional data took a total of six months (beginning of January 2023 to the end of June 2023). Data collection techniques used were direct observation and in-depth interviews as outlined in field notes. The informant selection system uses the snowball sampling technique, by finding basic informants, then it will be able to determine key informants and ordinary informants. The key informants were four pitulung dompo out of eleven pitulung dompo in Limau Manis Village. Patients provide information about the healer through their experiences as patients. This study also used secondary data regarding the area of the village and the number of residents obtained through the office staff of the Head of Limau Manis Village. A literature study was also conducted to increase understanding regarding the concepts of survival strategies and traditional medicine. The results of the study explain that the dompo practice still exists and the pitulungs number eleven people. Some pitulung dompo still keep the Betaljemur Adammakna primbon book because they inherited it from their parents who kept the primbon book. In an era that is increasingly developing, some pitulung no longer apply all the knowledge contained in primbon regarding dompo disease. There is a dompo concoction which is now experiencing a change in the ingredients of the ingredients from what is stated in the Jawi Jawi fiber spell primbon. Then there is a naturalization process of personalistic things from pitulung in looking at the concept of the cause of dompo pain. The results of this study indicate that each pitulung has strategies to maintain its existence in competing with other pitulungs. The strategy used by the four pitulungs is the first strategy of service excellence which provides the best service so that patients feel comfortable and come again to pitulung. Second, the customer trust strategy is an effort to provide understanding with the aim of building public trust in pitulung expertise and patients will prefer to come to only one pitulung for treatment. Third, the strategy for paying for treatment, namely setting price rates according to the patient's market and looking at the patient's socio-economic conditions which in the end the installation of tariffs is relatively cheap for the scope of the Limau Manis village.en_US
