    Abstract
    The problem that local aluminum cylinder casting craftsmen often face is the number of casting defects caused by the gravity casting methods that are still used in the casting process. Various maximum developments have also been made in casting materials by adding alloy elements or treating casting. Improving the quality of casting products can be done by improving the casting process, such as the centrifugal casting method. Centrifugal casting is the process of pouring liquid metal into a rotary mold and giving the liquid metal a push against the wall of the mold during the disposal. As for the purpose of this study, it is to find out the influence of the variation of silicone mixtures on the casting of aluminum using horizontal centrifugal casting on the mechanical and microstructure properties. The research was carried out by mixing aluminum with silicone variations of 6%, 8%, and 10% on a horizontal centrifugal mold rotated at 1200 rpm. The result of the product specimen in the violent test with the highest violent value was a mixed variation of Si 10% with a value of 51.37 BHN. Then, in the impact test, the result was obtained that the molecule was able to absorb the greatest energy at the variation Si 10% at a value of 10.94 J. From the results of the microstructure testing on the specimen of variation Si 6%, there was more porosity. In the specimens with a variance of 10%, there was a smaller particle size and a more evenly spread particle.
