Dampak Sosial Ekonomi Pemulung terhadap Tingkat Pendidikan Anak di Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA) Batu Bola Kecamatan Padangsidimpuan Angkola Julu
Abstract
Children are individuals who are classified as in a period of development and change starting from infancy to adolescence. Children are included in one of the individuals who really need education. Motivation to learn in children is one of the main factors needed in encouraging children to learn. Education in children is a capital or basis that can be used for the future. Education is needed by children to improve the role of children and can foster a sense of responsibility and increase their participation in society and can contribute to the progress of their country. This research was conducted at the TPA Batu Bola located in Simatohir Village, Angkola Julu District, Padangsidimpuan City. The purpose of this research is to find out how the socio-economic impact of waste pickers on the level of children's education in TPA Batu Bola. The informants used in this study consisted of key informants, namely the guard in TPA Batu Bola, main informants, 5 waste pickers in TPA Batu Bola, and additional informants, Simatohir Village Chief and 2 children of the waste pickers. Data collection was done by literature study, observation, interview and documentation. The method used was a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. To answer the research problems, Soehandono's theory of socioeconomic conditions and the level of formal education according to the UU Sisdiknas were used. It was found that the socioeconomic conditions of scavengers have an impact on their children's formal education level, seen from the theory of socioeconomic conditions by Soehandono, including housing conditions, economic activities, food, clothing and social activities. The level of formal education of scavenger children based on the UU Sisdiknas includes primary education, secondary education, and higher education.
