dc.description.abstract | This research discusses the social solidarity of Nias Students in expressing Maena traditional dance culture. In this study, the authors wanted to see how the social solidarity of Nias students in expressing the traditional Maena dance culture and the meaning of Maena traditional dance for the social solidarity of Nias students in the Nias student Forum organization of the University of North Sumatra. The social solidarity carried out by members of the USU FORMAN organization can be seen through the way they preserve the traditional Maena dance culture. In this study, the research method used was a qualitative descriptive method by explaining and explaining how the social solidarity of Nias students in preserving the traditional Maena dance culture. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The selection ad determination of informants in this study used a purposive sampling technique, which the number of informants in this study was 10 informants who had been interviewed. The results of the study show that the Maena traditional dance is a traditional Nias dance which is carried out together and in groups with very simple movements with the aim of welcoming guests and as a medium of entertainment. The traditional Maena dance is very simple and invites everyone to join in the dance for the sake of togetherness and unity among the tribes, even outside the Nias tribe. What needs to be considered is the meaning in the traditional Maena dance, this dance teaches us about the values of togetherness, unity and oneness as well as joy and excitement. Maena dance is performed in groups, this dance depicts us dancing simultaneously so that it symbolizes togetherness and unity in dancing. The formation of Nias students solidarity is due to the traditional Maena dance which forms a very high sense of kinship ang togetherness, giving rise to unity ang harmony among members of organizational administrators. This is because the traditional Maena dance can bring everyone involved closer. Thus, this will form social solidarity within Nias students that is strong and intact, working together and helping one another. | en_US |
