| dc.description.abstract | This research was conducted to design and manufacture pulley prints used for
vertical centrifugal laboratory-scale casting. The cor products are made of pulleys
made of aluminum with variations of Si of 20%, 25%, and 30%. Tests carried out
on materials include, among other things, strength tests, stiffness tests, and SEM
tests. As for the purpose of this design, it is to know and understand the vertical
centrifugal casting process and the material properties of the casting results. The
result of the design and printing of this pulley has a height of 73 mm and a diameter
of 356 mm. The result of the product specimen in the hardness test that has the
highest hardness value is a mixture variation of Si 30% with a value of 78.43. In the
wear test, the mixture variant of Si 20% has a higher wear value with a value of
3.41615x10-6. For the SEM test, the observation results using SEM showed that
there is a low height difference of the surface, as can be seen from the dark and
bright color of the morphological results of a surface. The darker the surface image
of the specimen, the more it gets in the porosity hole. | en_US |
