dc.description.abstract | Water is a basic need required to meet the needs of economic and social activities, such as
industry, trade, hospitals, hotels, offices, and education (schools). This research was made based
on the background to meet the government program, namely 100-0-100 in 2019 from PUPR and
the absence of previous research conducted related to the planning and design of drinking water
treatment in Secanggang District. The problems faced are the lack of quantity and the declining
quality of water production for domestic use. This study aims to determine the quantity and
characteristics of Wampu River water suitable for use as a clean water source in Wampu District,
Langkat Regency. The data used are primary data; Wampu River water quality and secondary
data; population from BPS Langkat. In the raw water of the Wampu River, there are 5 parameters
that exceed the quality standards of river raw water, namely; turbidity, BOD5, COD, fecal
coliform, and total coliform. The projected population in 2040 is 40,924 people and the total water
demand is 67 L / second. Obtained from the calculation results; 2 pre-sedimentation basins with
a volume of 248.09 m3, a coagulation building with a volume of 4.02 m3, 2 flocculation basins
with a volume of 90 m3, 2 sedimentation basins with a volume of 248.09 m3, 4 filtration basins
with a volume of 20.35 m3, chlorine disinfection needs of 17 kg / day, and 2 reservoirs with a
volume of 1,075.7 m3. The estimated draft cost budget required in the planning of the Drinking
Water Treatment Plant is estimated at Rp. 14,319,272,361. | en_US |
