| dc.description.abstract | hypertension incidence keeps increasing along with the increase in age number. This disease is commonly found in the elderly group. This research aims to determine the descriptionand characteristics of elderly with hypertension at Cinta Raja Village, Secanggang Subdistrict, Langkat Regency. This quantitative research employs descriptive method and the data are ana/-yzed using univariate analysis technique. Total sampling technique is used in this research with a total sample of 40 elderly who suffer from hyperterzsion. Data are collected using den:zographic data and direct measurements of blood pressure. The results indicate that of 40 respondents, 21 respondents (52.5%) suffer from hyperterision in the mild hypertension category, 15 responden1s (37.5%) suffer from moderate hyperterzsion, and 4 respondents (I 0%) suffer from severe hypertension. This condition can be occurred due to the influence of the characteristics of age, gender, education, occupation, and family history of hypertension in the elderly. Based on the results, it is expected that the healthcare workers of Cinta Raja Vjllage improve health education regarding the prevention of hypertension in elderly which is can bee seen from the relatively high incidence of hypertension in the elderly in Cinta Raja Village. | en_US |
