dc.description.abstractIn Indonesia in a way general all daily needs are related to chemicals so that To meet these needs. One of material chemical industry which is widely consumed by the domestic chemical industry is Vinyl Chloride monomers. The VCM manufacturing process consists of 3 processes, namely the reaction process of acetylene with HCl, the direct reaction process of ethylene/ethane, and the pyrolysis or thermal cracking process of ethylene dichloride (EDC). Of the 3 VCM manufacturing processes, thermal cracking is more efficient than the others and use material standard Ethylene dichloride (EDC). Pre Design Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM) Plant uses method pyrolysis with material standard ethylene dichloride capacity production 250.000 tons/ year And operate during 330 day in One year. Location factory planned in the Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Sei Mengkei, North Sumatra . The area of land required for setting up a industry is 38.016 m 2 . The results of the economic aspect analysis obtained are as follows: • Total Investment Capital = Rp 14.968.410.859.652,70 • Total Production Cost = Rp 11.858.252.649.395,20. • Sales Proceeds = Rp 16.495.373.570.703,90. • Net Profit = Rp 2.999.142.455.856,37 • Profit Margin = 16,91 % • Break Even Point = 11,92 % • Return on Investment = 18,23 % • Pay Out Time = 5 years 6 months • Return on Network = 30,39 % • Internal Rate of Return = 21,79 % Based on the results of the economic aspect analysis, it can be concluded that “VCM Manufacturing Industry use method Pyrolysis Ethylene dichloride (EDC) with a capacity of 250.000 tonnes/year” is feasible to be established.en_US
