Abstract
Elderly's quality of life is necessary to improve one's perception of life based on the cultural context and value system in which they live. Also, it relates to life expectancy, including physical, mental, social, and environmental health. This is a quantitative descriptive research design to describe the quality of life of the elderly in Du.sun III, Sei Tuan Village. A total sampling technique is employed to determine the total sample consisting of 30 respondents. The research instrument is a quality of-life questionnaire from WHOQOL-BREF. The results of this study indicate that the quality of life of the elderly, based on the mean score, is 72.43 and the standard deviation value is 8.881. It indicates that the quality of life of the elderly is still in the mid-range of quality of life. This is because the elderly have a decreasing physical condition due to the age factor so the performance of the organs of the body also decreases, as it can be seen from the emergence of various diseases suffered by the elderly. When the elderly feels unprepared to face this situation, the elderly will experience psychological changes that can affect their physical health condition which can interfere with the social relations of the elderly, such as withdrawing from their surroundings and causing the elderly to feel uncomfortable with the environment where they live in. From the results of this study, it is expected that the responsible health services team are able to help the elderly improve their quality of life by carrying out routine inspection programs of the available Posyandu. In addition, this research can be developed into developing research data, for example, adding variables to be studied, different types of research, and can be carried out on a larger number of respondents in different locations where this research has never been conducted.
