Analisis Kandungan Kadmium pada Lipstik dan Keluhan Kesehatan Mahasiswi Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat USU Medan Tahun 2023

Abstract

Lipstick is the lip color most often used by female students Faculty of Public Health, USU Medan. Cadmium is a heavy metal that is often found in lipstick. Excessive levels of cadmium in lipstick are not justified because it can cause skin irritation, damage to liver, kidneys, and respiratory system. The purpose of this research is to analyze the cadmium content in lipstick, the behavior and health complaints of female students FKM USU Medan due to using lipstick. This type of research is descriptive survey. The population in this study were all undergraduate students FKM USU Medan class of 2019. The total sample was 72 people taken by random sampling method while the research object was 5 liquid lipsticks and 5 solid lipsticks with the criteria of lipsticks most often used by female students and causing negative impacts during use. Data were analyzed descriptively in the form tables and narratives. Data collection methods were carried out by questionnaire and laboratory testing. The results showed that all lipstick samples tested contained cadmium with a cadmium range of 0.0000014 mg/L-0.573275 mg/L. All lipstick samples still meet the requirements set by BPOM namely cadmium content
