Analisis Perilaku, Sanitasi Lingkungan Rumah, Kepadatan Lalat, dan Keluhan Kesehatan Pada Pemulung di Kelurahan Tegalsari Mandala II Kecamatan Medan Denai

Abstract

The majority of Tegalsari Mandala II people work as waste pickers and some occupy uninhabitable houses that can interfere with health. Poor sanitary conditions such as there are many piles of garbage in the yard of the house also result in the number of flies around the house. This study aims to analyze behavior, sanitation of the home environment, fly density, and health complaints in waste pickers in Tegalsari Mandala II. This type of research is a descriptive survey. The number of samples was 80 waste pickers with a sampling method using random sampling. The results showed that the majority of waste pickers were female (66.3%), most waste pickers were in the age range of 15-35 years (70.0%), most of the waste pickers had the last high school education (60.0%), and most waste pickers had income in the range of Rp 1,000,000 – Rp 3,000,000 (53.8%). Based on the Technical Guidelines for the Assessment of Healthy Houses of the Directorate General of Disease Control and Environmental Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in 2002, there are 77 houses that are categorized as unhealthy houses because they have an assessment result of
