    Abstract
The swimming pool is one of the public places that can transmit disease to humans. The impact caused by polluted swimming poolwater can be eye irritation and itching of the skin. This study aims to analyze residual chlorine levels and complaints of eye irritation in visitors to the swimming pool in Tebing Tinggi City on 2023. This research is a descriptive survey by observing swimming pool sanitation, examining residual chlorine using a Spectrophotometric Test Kit, and interviewing pool visitors using a questionnaire. The population in this study was 3 swimming pools with a sample of 80 people selected by accidental sampling. The results showed that the three swimming pools in Tebing Tinggi City were sufficient enough to meet the criteria for sanitation requirements for public swimming pools, which is above 2514 – 4190. The results of laboratory tests that have been carried out were known that the three public swimming pools in Tebing Tinggi City did not meet the quality standards for residual free chlorine in roofed/non-roofed swimming pools, which is 1-1.5 mg/L. Then as many as 70% of the visitors to the three swimming pools are female with the age range from 17 to 25 years, have completed high school education, and work as labourers/honorary employees/private employees. The level of knowledge of pool visitors was already in the good category, as well as the questions related to the attitudes of pool visitors who had a good category. The actions of pool visitors were in a good category and there were still many among the visitors who experienced complaints such as symptoms of eye irritation after swimming. The pool visitors also had not used, appropriate swimming goggles to minimize the entry of water into the goggles.
