dc.description.abstractThe use of certified seed potatoes in many parts of Indonesia is still relatively low.The relatively high price of certified seed potatoes when compared to the price of seed potatoes made by farmers themselves is one of the main reasons for the low use of certified seed potatoes. The selling price of potato yields derived from certified seed potatoes and potato yields derived from seeds made by farmers themselves when sold to the general market is relatively the same. The emergence of new superior varieties issued by the government and private companies certainly has an impact on the behavior of farmers in the use of superior varieties given the differences in farmers perceptions of certified seeds in each region are not the same. The purpose of this study is to analyze farmers' attitudes towards certified seed potatoes in Karo Regency, analyze farmers' satisfaction with certified seed potatoes in Karo Regency and analyze the level of performance and importance offarmers in using certified seed potatoes in Karo Regency. The research method used in this study is Fishbein's multi-attribute analysis to determine farmers'attitudes, while satisfaction is analyzed with the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results of the study arethe attitude’s of farmers in the use of certified potato seeds in Karo district is to like to use certified potato seeds and the satisfaction index of farmers in using certified potato seeds is 76.74% with satisfied criteria while the results of Importance Perpormance Analysis (IPA) analysis of several attributes that need to be maintained, namely resistance to pests and diseases, seed germination, selling prices and productivity while those that need more attention are attributes that are not of much concern to farmers are plant age, type of variety, plant characteristics and seed size while attributes that need to be improved are attributes of seed prices, seed availability and seed labels.en_US
