Nowadays, pedestrians are still low on enthusiasts. Some of the factors people are reluctant to walk include, among others, the cut off pedestrian paths, poor lighting conditions, unavailability of rest and seats. Directorate General of Cipta Karya of the Ministry of PUPR is simultaneously developing an area arrangement concept called the "Heritage Trail", which is a sidewalk arrangement concept that aims to bring the public to feel the experience of walking in the midst of cultural heritage buildings that have socio-cultural values. Transport Demand Omotenashi (TDO) is a concept of transportation demand management that tries to handle requests for transportation users based on the concept of hospitality. This study seeks to measure the level of pedestrian hospitality in the Heritage area by implementing the TDO concept. The Kota Lama Kesawan area of Medan City was chosen as the research location in connection with being one of the strategic/priority area programs of the Directorate General of Cipta Karya, Ministry of PUPR. Elements related to pedestrian hospitality are assessed include the performance of pedestrian paths, pedestrian facilities, pedestrian geometrics, crossing geometrics, personal comfort, and pedestrian walkability for tourists. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to calculate the proportion of each element to pedestrian hospitality. The analysis used includes analysis of the performance of pedestrian paths and AHP for parameter weighting and measuring the level of hospitality of each variable. The level of pedestrian hospitality based on the TDO concept shows that pedestrian way in the Kota Lama Kesawan area of Medan City are at hospitable levels (3 to 4) at Balai Kota, Pulau Pinang, and Ahmad Yani Street and quite hospitable level (2 to 3) at Bukit Barisan, Raden Saleh and Kereta Api Street. This is supported by the finding that the level of pedestrian hospitality cannot be measured solely based on the performance of pedestrian paths. This study reveals that the level of pedestrian hospitality is influenced by pedestrian elements for tourists (0.302), personal comfort (0.234), crossing geometric (0.144), pedestrian facilities (0.139), pedestrian path geometry (0.099), and pedestrian path performance (0.082).en_US
