Technological developments require companies to continue to innovate the products they produce according to consumer desires. Understanding consumer desires is a must for companies to know and understand each person, who has different desires, abilities, and needs. CV. Star Umroh Engineering is a private company that operates in the manufacturing sector in the form of workshops for making industrial/MSME machines such as manual brick press machines and others. This brick press machine functions to compact a cement and sand mixture using a mold and press it until it becomes a brick product. The problem when the machine is used is that the dynamo seat easily comes off (during welding) due to vibrations from the dynamo and the lever to lift the mold, which affects physical work (quick fatigue or shoulder pain) due to the heavy material or materials. Research using the VE and DFMA concepts solves this problem, as well as establishing a methodology that produces functional product designs that are compatible with assembly and manufacturing. The results of the proposed design provide an increase in the lever function value by 23% and the dynamo mount connection by 26.95%. This design helps increase the force applied by the user so that it makes it easier to lift material loads, and the DFMA evaluation obtained an increase in design efficiency of 3%, while only the alternative spring design experienced production cost savings of 1.14%.
