dc.description.abstractThis research was conducted in the agricultural industry based on oil palm processing in a private company in North Sumatra. One of the company's processed products is shortening, which is often exported to several countries. Export activities are very helpful in increasing the company's income, but it should be noted that the product processing capacity must meet the set target of 65% in order to fulfill the needs of consumers. This is a challenge that must be faced by the company. The concept of lean manufacturing is the main solution in increasing the capacity of shortening products, this concept needs to be implemented so that companies can see what is actually happening so that their production capacity has not reached its target. Several methods such as fishbone, pareto diagrams, S.M.A.R.T analysis will also be applied to support the success of this lean manufacturing concept. So that later the company's production capacity can increase and will achieve the target that has been set.en_US
