Hubungan Pola Asuh Orang Tua dengan Tumbuh Kembang Anak Usia Toddler di desa Pematang Jering Batubara

Abstract

Growth and Development are two different but inseparable events. Parenting style is a way of nurturing the children that affects the formation of a child's personality in fulfilling the child's growth and development. Toddlers is a period of 12-36 months which is highly crucial for children in achieving development and intellectual growth. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research design with a cross-sectional approach. The samples are taken by a purposive sampling technique and 60 samples are obtained. The instruments employed in this study are a parenting style questionnaire with 24 statements and a Pre-screening Developmental Questionnaire (PDQ) for children aged 12-36 months. This study uses the chi-square test with a p-value (0.001) < (0.05), which means there is a correlation between parenting styles and toddlers' growth and development. The results show that the parenting style of the majority is permissive with a total of 36 people (60.0%} and the majority of children's growth and development are normal with a total of 47 people (78.3%}. It is hoped that parents provide parenting style more effectively for toddlers during their growth and development as well as always take part in checking their child's growth and developmentat the nearest public health center and follow the advice.
