dc.description.abstract | The location of PT Sorik Marapi Geothermal Power (SMGP) in the midst of the
local people’s residences has caused pros and cons. Their relationship is very
dynamic, especially whenit is concerned with Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) and environmental management. The objectives of the research are to find
out the environmental management done by the company, and the local people’s
view of the company. The research uses the qualitative method. The data are
gathered by using the field research, observation, interview and documentary study
and analyzed by using the descriptive-analytic method. The samples are taken by
using a non-purposive sampling technique with certain criteria. The results of
research show that 1) the CSR Program conducted at PT Sorik Marapi Geothermal
Power includes relationship development, public service and people’s
empowerment, 2) the activity of environmental management by the campany is not
maximal, 3) the dynamics of relationship between the company and the local people
in the periode of 2017-2022 is generally unharmonious since there are many bad
events occurred such as gas poisoning, noisiness, drought, CSR funds, etc. The
enabling factors of the dynamic relationship between them are as follows: a) the
CSR program is not on target, b) the CSR program is not strategic, c) the company
is not transparent, d) the communication pattern does not run very well, and, e) the
company is somewhat reluctant in responding the local people’s complaint. | en_US |
