Lhokseumawe is often flooded and inundated by rain water. It seems that Pusong Reservoir does not effectively handle the flood because it gets shallower. The objective of the research is to analyze and to recommend the management of Pusong Reservoir based on the suspended sediment load in order to handle the problem of the reservoir's being shallow. The samples are taken by determining the stations in the environment in six observation stations. The suspended sediment concentration, turbidity, and inflow suspended sediment load are analyzed. The concentration of suspended sediment is approximately 9.3 - 50 ppm, the turbidity is about 2.17- 14.42 NTU, and the inflow suspended sediment load is 0.00- 6946.56 kg per day. Based on the analysis of inflow suspended sediment load to the reservoir, it is necessary to manage the controlling of sediment transportation in order to prevent it from getting shallower in the Pusong Reservoir by using sediment traps, vegetative sediment, and spoil bank of the result of dredging.
