The objective of this research is to analyze the rate of deforestation and degradation of mangrove forest, the loss of carbon stock at Pulau Kampai in 1991, 2004, and 2022, and the remaining carbon stock stored in 2022. The average rate of deforestation and degradation of mangrove forest in 1991-2004 was 19.03 ha/year and in 2004-2022 it was 28.52 ha/year. The estimation of carbon stock loss from 1991 to 2022 which is around 36,669.09- 60,562.35 tons of C, while the remaining carbon stock in 2022 is around 86,095.27- 142,194.21 tons of C. The diameter of the bough and sparseness of the mangrove crown have significant correlation with carbon stock, with R2 = 0.813 and 0.674 respectively which indicates that the larger the diameter of the bow and the denser the crown, the greater the increase in stored carbon stock. Whereas the individual (tree) density has no significant influence on carbon stock, which means the denser the trees is, the smaller the diameter of the bough and the lower the carbon stock. Overall, the mangrove forest at Pulau Kampai is in good condition with 64.75% classified as dense, 11.57% classified as very dense, and the rest is, 7.14% is in the category of moderate. Nevertheless, good mangrove forest management will curb the rate of mangrove destruction, resulting in a sustainable mangrove forest at Pulau Kampai.
