dc.description.abstract | Hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure increases due to some conditions such as blood vessels. Hypertension is greatly influenced by an unhealthy lifestyle. Some factors that cause a high blood pressure namely eating fatty foods and high-sodium foods, not being physically active and not exercising regularly, not being able to control stress, and smoking. The research aims to describe the lifestyle of hypertension patients in Huta III Gunung Maligas. Descriptive quantitative method is used in this research and the samples are all hypertension patients consisting of 30 respondents taken using total sampling technique. The research results are presented descriptively by using distribution tables as a form of data interpretation. It is obtained that the majority of respondents aged > 65 years which is 56.7%, 86.7% of the respondents are female, the majority of BMI are in the obesity category which is 43.3%, 83.3% of them are graduated from elementary school, 63.3% of them are housewives and 66.7% of them do not have a medical history of hypertension. In addition, the majority of hypertension incidences are in the stage 1 hypertension category which is 46.7%, the majority of lifestyle of hypertension patients in Huta III Gunung Maligas falls in the insufficient category namely 19 people (63.3%) and 11 people (36.7%) fall in the good category. It is expected that respondents exercise sufficient physical activity to avoid the incidence of obesity, so the risk of developing hypertension can be reduced. | en_US |
