    Abstract
Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus frequently suffer from tissue damage in the lower extremity due to the accumulation of blood vessel in the peripheral circulation. The method of Buerger Allen Exercise (BAE) can smoothen the swollen blood vessel and change the body posture in order to stimulate the lower extremity peripheral circulation by moving the gravity in the blood vessel and giving the muscle contraction. Buerger Allen Exercise aims to prevent the disease in the peripheral blood vessel and improve the peripheral circulation of lower extremity in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus based on empirical study in the last five years started from 2018 until 2023. Literature Review design is conducted by collecting the database from ScienceDirect, PubMed, dan Google Scholar and 20 articles, consisting of 3 international articles with Q4 scopus index and 17 national articles with Sinta 3 and Sinta 4 index. The result of Literature Review indicates that there is a significant effect of Buerger Allen Exercise implementation on the peripheral circulation of lower extremity in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Buerger Allen Exercise is measured using Vascular Doppler tool to measure the Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) value in the patients' lower extremity. Therefore, the method of Buerger Allen Exercise can be recommended to improve the peripheral circulation of lower extremity in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
