dc.description.abstractAs they grow older, the elderly experiences biological, cognitive and psychosocial changes that can trigger stress. Stress is a normal adaptive response of the body. However, if the elderly cannot adapt and overcome stress, it can increase gradually and affect negatively on the health of the elderly. This research aims to find out the level of stress in the elderly in Cengkeh Turi Village, North Binjai Subdistrict, Binjai. This quantitative research employs descriptive design and 130 elderlies at the age of 60-74 years in Cengkeh Turi Village, North Binjai Subdistrict, Binjai serve as research population. The 56 elderlies at the age of 60-74 years in Cengkeh Turi Village, North Binjai Subdistrict, Binjai served as research samples are selected by using the Slovin formula with the level of error tolerance at 0.1 or 10%. Accidental Sampling technique is employed in this research as sampling technique. The result indicates that the majority of the elderly experiences stress in the moderate category, namely 35 people or 62.5%.en_US
