dc.description.abstractStress is a reaction of the body to a situation that causes pressure, change, and emotional tension. Old age is part of the process of growth and development. Hypertension is a condition when the systolic blood pressure is more than 120 mmHg and the diastolic more than 80 mm Hg. Respondents in this study are hypertensive elderly. The objective of this research is to find out the description of stress level of the hypertensive elderly. The research employs descriptive and quantitative design. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling with purposive sampling with a total sample of 96 people. Data collection is carried out using the accidental sampling method from May to June 2022. The research instrument is demographic data on stress levels. The results indicate that the characteristics of respondents aged 60-65 years are 50 respondents (52.1%), and respondents with elementary school education background are 76 respondents (79.2%). The results show that of the 96 respondents, 74 of them (77.1) have moderate stress levels. The elderly who has a moderate level of stress is caused by weakened body muscle function, adjustment to the environment, age factor, and the impact of decreased ability to maintain life.en_US
