Persepsi Pasien Tentang Penyuluhan Kesehatan di Rumah Sakit
Abstract
Nurse is a profession that is focused on caring for individuals, families and communities in achieving maintaining and restoring optimal health. One of the things that nurses do is to help meet the health needs and problems of patients by providing health education to increase patient knowledge about health. This study aims to reveal the perceptions of patients who have been treated in the implementation of health counseling delivered by nurses at the hospital. This study used a phenomenological design with in-depth interviews with 10 participants. Data analysis was performed using the Colaizzi method with thematic analysis. The research was conducted in the Johor Medan area. Based on the results of the study, five themes were obtained related to patient perceptions of health education while hospitalized, namely 1) Health education for the community, 2) Patient perceptions of implementing health education, 3) Benefits of health education for patients, 4) Barriers to patients in implementing counseling health, 5) Patient expectations of hospital nurses. The conclusion from this study is that health education provides benefits to patients and the community, the obstacles felt by patients are nurses' lack of understanding of the material provided and the use of language that is not understood and patients expect nurses to carry out their duties properly and wisely.
