Keluhan Nyeri Punggung Bawah pada Pengrajin Batik Wanita di Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau

Abstract

Lower back pain commonly becomes a health problem nowadays. It is musculoskeletal disorder because people's lifestyle tends to lack of physical activities. The objective of the research is to find out the complaint about lower back pain in the batik craftswomen at Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau Village. The research uses descriptive quantitative method with cross sectional design. The samples are 36 batik craftswomen, taken by using total sampling technique. The data are analyzed by using univariate analysis which is aimed to describe the characteristics of each variable. The result of demographic data shows that 58.3% of the respondents are 45-59 years old with the length of service of 0-12 months, 47.2% of the respondents complain about their lower back pain with moderate risk of the mean value of 67.28, and have SD of 13.9. It is recommended that the batik craftswomen pay attention to their ergonomic body postures during working or doing sport. They should also drink a lot of water.
