dc.description.abstractBackground Violence is the use of physical force and power, threats or actions against oneself, an individual, or a group of people or a community that results in or is likely to result in injury/trauma, death, psychological harm, developmental disabilities or deprivation of rights. During the 2017-2019 period, the number of incidents of crime or criminal acts in Indonesia tended to decrease. Police data shows that the number of crime incidents (total crime) in 2017 was 336,652 incidents, decreased to 294,281 incidents in 2018 and decreased in 2019 to 269,324. Method This study is an observational study with a descriptive research design using a retrospective approach based on data from Visum et Repertum, where data collection was carried out only once using secondary data originating from Visum et Repertum injuries to living people at Dolok Sanggul Hospital for the period January 2023 to December 2023, with population 50 Visum et Repertum injuries to living people (total sampling). Results Based on this study, the most common injuries to living people were in the age range of 26-45 years, namely 22 people (44%), 36 men (72%), all of which were mechanical violence 50 cases (100%), combined injuries in 26 cases (52%) which were dominated by blunt violence, namely bruises and minor injuries in 29 cases (58%).en_US
