Background: The family is the smallest and most autonomous social institution thus, it becomes a domestic area that is close from the reach of public power so cases of domestic violence seem to be only internal problems. Several forms of violence occur in household, including physical, psychological, sexual, and economic neglect. Throughout 2004-2021. Komnas Perempuan recorded 544,452 cases, in 2021 there are 25,210 cases, in 2022 the data included 27,589 cases. Meanwhile in Medan, in 2021 there were 837 cases, in 2022 there were 588 cases and in 2023 until May 111 cases. Indonesia enacted Law No. 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence or what is known as the Law on the Elimination of Domestic Violence (ratified 22 September 2004). This law prohibits acts of domestic violence against people within the scope of the household by means of physical, psychological, sexual violence or neglect in the household. The people within the scope of the household referred to are husband, wife, children, and people who have family relations because of blood relations, marriage, breastfeeding, care, guardianship, living in the household and people who work to help and settle in the household the. In this study, blunt, sharp and thermal trauma were found which resulted in bruises, abrasions, swelling and burns to the victims. General: To find out the profile of cases of domestic violence that experienced physical violence at Dr. Pirngadi Hospital Medan in 2021-2022. Methods: The research was carried out in a retrospective descriptive manner using secondary data from the results of the request for post-mortem and post-mortem examinations recorded at Dr. Pirngadi Hospital Medan in 2021-2022.
