Hubungan Pengetahuan Ibu Tentang Imunisasi Dasar terhadap Kelengkapan Imunisasi Dasar Bayi di Dusun II Desa Paluh Sibaji Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

Basic immunization is an attempt to provide body immune in babies by inserting vaccine into the body to make an anti-substance for preventing certain diseases. Women's knowledge of immunization is assumed as the factor related to compliance with immunization. Women's knowledge plays an important role giving immunization to babies. The objective of the research is to find out the correlation between women's knowledge of the completion of basic immunization for babies at Dusun II, Paluh Sibaji Village. The research employs descriptive correlation method. The samples are 34 women who have 1-5 year-old-children at Dusun II. Paluh Sibaji Village, taken by using total sampling technique. The research instrument is questionnaire. The data are analyzed by using bivariate analysis with chi-square test. The result of the analysis shows that p-value = 0.000 which indicated that there is the correlation between the variable of women's knowledge and the variable of the completion of basic immunization (p <0.05). The result of the research could be used as health service by giving information about health education to the people in order to provide women about basic immunization and the importance of the completion of basic immunization for 0-11 month-old babies.
