dc.description.abstractVerbal abuse, if done constantly, can affect the child's cognitive or mental development. Most children face some problems, such as frequently cry due to trivial things, do not have self-confidence, difficult to socialize with new people or inferior and difficult to actualize themselves optimally. The research aims to identify the correlation between verbal abuse and cognitive and mental development in school age children. The research employs literature review method and data are collected from databases of ProQuest, Scopus and Google Scholar focusing on research from 2013 until 2023. The journal obtained through selection assessment and keyword search are 8 journals (national and international). The result based on 8 journals that have been reviewed, indicates that there is a correlation between verbal abuse and child's cognitive and mental development. Therefore, the parents should stop the verbal abuse and give a good stimulation so that the child's cognitive can develop optimallen_US
