dc.description.abstractModification is a process of changing the shape with the aim of getting better results and improving the quality of the tool. Thus, this research was conducted with the aim of modifying the inlet, chopping tube, outlet and adding a variety of sieves to the cassava chopper and testing the tool using an 8-inch pulley with a rotation speed of 780 RPM. This research uses the experimental method by testing the sieve variations of 10 mm, 14 mm and 18 mm. The results showed that the effective capacity of the largest tool was 190.67 kg / hour on an 18 mm sieve. The highest yield value from the shredding process is found on the 18 mm sieve which is 61.5%. The highest percentage value of material left in the tool on the 10 mm sieve treatment is 51.7%. The highest percentage value of unshredded material is found in the 18 mm sieve treatment, which is 1.3% and the highest material loss value is found in treatment 10, which is 11.1%.en_US
