Pengaruh Dukungan Keluarga terhadap Kepatuhan Kemoterapi Pasien Kanker

Abstract

Cancer is caused by the mistake in cell division system which brings out abnormal cell growth continuously and uncontrollably. It can change its shape and spread to another organ which is called metastases. One of the therapies in cancer is chemotherapy which is a method of cancer therapy by using medicine or substance which can kill cancer cells. During the chemotherapy in a hospital, a cancer patient should be accompanied by his family so that he will be more comfortable, without feeling unsupported by his family. The research employs literature review by collecting and analyzing other researches on family support and the compliance with having chemotherapy in order to analyze the effect of family support on the adherence to have chemotherapy in cancer patients. Searching for Database is done by using Google Scholar, ResearhGate, and PubMed articles in the period of 2019-2023. The selection process is carried out by using PICOS criterion format. The result of the research shows that there is effect of family support on adherence to undergo chemotherapy in cancer patients. The result of the literature review shows that 10 journals discussed family support and adherence to have chemotherapy. One of the factors which influences the adherence to undergo chemotherapy is family support which is found in 10 articles; they are in the forms of instrumental, informational, assessment, and emotional.
