Gambaran Pengetahuan Masyarakat terhadap Kesiapsiagaan dalam Menghadapi Bencana Banjir di Kelurahan Mandailing Kota Tebing Tinggi

Abstract

Tebing Tinggi is an area of North Sumatra Province which is susceptible to flood. Based on the BMK, the areas of Tebing Tinggi which includes Bajenis Sub- district, the town of Tebing Tinggi, Padang Hilir, Padang Hulu, and Rambutan are very susceptible to flood in the moderate category. The objective of the research is to identify how far the people's knowledge of alertness for flood at Kelurahan Mandailing, Tebing Tinggi. The research employs descriptive quantitative method with cross sectional study. The data are gathered by distributing questionnaires and analyzed by using univariate analysis. The samples are 93 respondents, taken by using purposive sampling technique. The result of the research shows that 60 respondents (64.5%) have good knowledge of alertness for flood and 33 respondents (35.5%) have knowledge. It is recommended that people establish communities or organizations to monitor and take action of alertness for the incidence of flood at Kelurahan Mandailing.
