Efektivitas Penggunaan Rekam Medis Elektronik dalam Pelayanan Kesehatan Rumah Sakit

Abstract

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is one of technological innovations in the field of health services. Electronic medical record is the use of information technology devices for collecting, storing, processing and accessing data of patient medical records in hospitals from database management system. Thus, this condition generates thoughts among individuals and the public of the effectiveness of the use of the electronic medical record system in health care institutions. The research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of electronic medical records in hospital health services, especially in hospitals. The method of literature review is employed in this research starting from the stage of researching, collecting, and analyzing the results of previous studies related to the title literature review, namely the use of electronic medical records in hospital health services through Databases of Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Proquest, focusing on the articles published from 2017-2023 which have been selected by using the PICOS format. Based on literature review, 8 articles are obtained which are in accordance with the research purpose. Based on the identification, it indicates three aspects of effectiveness of electronic medical record, namely (1) data storage and security, (2) access to clinical data information, and (3) increase in medication safety. It is expected that the technology development of electronic medical record system can improve the quality of health services in every health agency. In addition, it is expected that health workers and authorized officers continue the evaluation in order to improve the use of medical records in health services.
